Baskin-Robbins 31% off on every 31st of the month

Baskin-Robbins: Mango Tango/Citrus Twist Ice -Sorbets/Love Potions.

I confess that i have a sweet tooth for ice cream/cakes/chocolate and cheese. So i was really delighted when i surf the City Square/JB website a few days ago and I realize that the CS baskin robbins has 31% off for every 31st for handpacked ice cream. Previously when they first open they did not participate in this promo. Today i purposely go to CS to buy their ice cream - which shows how nuts I am bout their ice cream. The chap who serve me is very friendly and nice (as compare to my experience in Genting...shudder....)
I bought their 2 Quart size for RM66.65 after 31% discount (NP:RM92). For your information Pint size is 350gram/Quart size is 700gram/Half gallon is 1385gram.

First time i bought so much BR in one shot. I was rather lost as to what flavor I wanted to buy. To me eating a small cup and eating a whole tube is different in the sense that if the taste does not suit you, it will be challenging to finish them up. The nice chap recommend that I mix up the flavor but I was a little worried if the combination is wrong and I can only taste one type of ice cream. This is speaking from experience when i combine green tea/coffee and mango. Needless to say I was a little apprehensive.

Ist pack Caramel Chocolate Crunch + Chocolate Chip2nd pack Mango Tango/Citrus Twist Ice -Sorbets/Love Potions.
Have just tried the 1st pack. The taste are great! They have a combination taste of Vanilla/Chocolate + Chocolate Chip/Caramel and Chocolate Nut. There is a sudden burst of flavor as I couldn't really taste the 2 flavor apart. The BR ppl who prepare my ice cream didn't separate both ice cream at all. He just sort of squash both ice cream together. The other BR ppl is nicer as he really separate the 3 taste from each other. And he is really friendly and you can feel his sincerity.

For the combo Caramel Chocolate Crunch + Chocolate Chip, I give it 8.5 over 10 and will definitely try again.

And looks like the promo does not stop there. They have another promo from April 1-5May 2010:Buy 2 Handpacked Quarts and free 1 Pint / Buy RM15 above entitle to buy single jr scoop for 31 cent.

If i compare the 31% off Handpacked with above Handpacked promo, the 31% promo is cheaper.
Price of 2 Quart and a pint: RM117.50-31% = 81.08+5%=RM85.10
Price of Buy 2 Quart free 1 pint = RM92+5%=RM96.60

One thing that i find inconsistent with them is that in Genting I can use the WorldCard Points (Genting member card) to redeem a 31% off ice cream for every 31st last year. But when i tried redeeming in City Square, they mention that I cant redeem as its already promotion. I disagree with this statement as the Genting WorldCard points should be treated the same as cash (1000 points = RM10). And another point is that they will not let me collect points. In Genting we can collect points although there is a promotion (Actually i always eat BR in Genting). If BR or Genting is reading this I hope this can be straighten out and more awareness about this issue. After all BR has agreed to participate as Genting Member. Therefore a standard procedure should be executed.

NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix Green Tea Flavour (450g)

NUTRILITE Protein Drink Mix Green Tea Flavour (450g) and the Protein Shaker.

My first attempt. I pour less than 400ml and 2 spoon of the powder. It look rather watery. Had a misunderstanding that when i bought this it can "replace a meal". I wanted to go on a diet so when i bought this it can make me feel full and i wont feel hungry. But when i tried this I was rather hungry and the hunger become worst. So looks like I was wrong in thinking it can replace a meal. The taste is like green tea minus the sugar and hot water. As it is protein must not use hot water else the protein will "die". What i worried about protein is that it can either make a person fat or thin (correct me if i were wrong).. i was afraid that my appetite will increase as I drank this and become fat~!

I was told that if i wanted to go on diet, I should try POSITRIM Dutch Cocoa, 14 packets/box instead. According to the website it says that its a Meal Replacement Supplements. It will be interesting to try this for its effectiveness one day. They have another 2 other flavours: Vanilla and Cofee. In addition I can also mix the 2 spoon of protein with Positrim. The description are below:

* Chocolate flavoured. A convenient and nutritious meal replacement choice for weight management.
* This is a nutritionally sound meal for weight control consisting of flavoured nonfat milk powder sweeteened with fructose that provides a healthful balance of carbohydrates, high-quality protein and fat.
* It contains 12 essential vitamins, 12 minerals, 7g protein, and 3g of dietary fibre per packet. Conveniently packaged in sealed sachets, it provides a quick breakfast or lunch, which is particularly important if you have to go to work or travel or in a hurry.
* Cutting calories often means cutting important nutrition. It is hard to get all the nutrition you need if you are skipping meals, eating smaller portions, or only particular foods. The Positrim Dutch Cocoa takes the guesswork out of eating right. And its great taste makes controlling weight easier and more enjoyable
* Suggested Use : Add contents of packet into a 250ml glass of cold skimmed, whole or reconstituted powdered milk. Stir until completely dissolved.

My Favourite food in Johor Bahru/Johor (Malaysia) PART 3

Recently I fell in love with 3 new restaurant. The data might not be complete as I write this as a spur of the moment. I might updates some pics if i went to the makan place again.

Kedai Makanan Seng Steam Fish Restaurant
No. 100, Jalan Keris, Tama Sri Tebrau, 80050, J.B.
Tel: 012-7082680 / 012-7750511

This is their feature dish. You can just peel off the fish. there is no bone and u can eat the entire fish. Crispy on the outside. soft on the inside. the white colour is the mayonase. It taste sweet sour.

Guys and girls when u come down to JB pls do yourself a favour and try this restaurant. This restaurant i heard that it only open till 230pm (according to my fren). They start from early morn till lunch. I went there once and instantly fell in love with it. Such a shame i only know the place recently when i live nearby.

From the crystal crown (if u come from holiday plaza direction) just drive a straight road from the market to the church then drive till the end of the road. The restaurant is at a corner shop at the last row to right. Please note that the area is pretty hidden by trees and it will appear isolated. Before i went there my reaction was like, "huh...there are shops there meh?"

Their food are yummy, delicious and cheap! We went there during breakfast so not much ppl. Since there is not much ppl, their service are super fast considering the food that came are hot. I heard that lunch time will be pact. We order four main dish. 5 rice. No drinks. Cost lest than rm50!

A corner shop. Its pretty covered by trees

even their cabbage are nice!

"Tau kee"

Bak kut teh. As i am writting this i already feel very hungry want to eat there again! Their bak kut teh taste very very nice! i love it!soothing ambience

Looks like they have been on the papers before

2. Banafee
There is 2 banafee along this stretch of road. I only tried the old Banafee which resembles a food court. I am told that the second Banafee call the Banafee Village is also belong to them.
Location according to the Banafee Village website: MAA Building next Naza Motor Jalan Abdullah Tahir.

I went there once and i really like the place. I ate their Feature Dish which is the Ayam Penyet. There is a spicy sambal sauce that accompany the dish. The dish are hot spicy and delicious. They also gave half a limau kasturi which i love to sprinkle on the sambal and the chicken. If you cannot tolerate spicy food this is not exactly for u then.
Picture take from the Banafee Village website

Other than order this i also order their Telur Dadar. I truly love the way they cook the telur Dadar. Some places cook the telur dadar as yellow colour. But here they cook it as golden colour which is my favourite. Besides that we also order the Nasi lemak. The nasi lemak taste normal. The best nasi lemak that i tasted so far are from MMU area and also my mums!

When I went to Banafee the place was pact to the seams. I nearly could not find a place to sit. One thing negative about them is that when they are pact, the food will be super super slow. They do not have the ability to work fast in a pact environment. My partner could not wait for the long que which is why he ended up eating nasi lemak ayam. When i look at the menu wat i like is that they have everything that i love! They have the roti jala, all the roti roti, telur dadar, tom yam soup and those malay nasi dish like ayam kunyit rice and and and..many many more...their menu are reaaally complete. But since my partner cannot eat a lot i only order a modest amt of dish. Another negative point about the old Banafee is that its hard to find parking! Which is why my colleague went to the Banafee Village due to the parking prob. Next time i will try the Banafee Village to see the difference. According to my dear fren the food is there is slightly more exp.

3. Wan Tan Mee: Ho Seng Kee

Its next to caltex which is near Holiday Plaza. Their Wan Tan Mee are bloody nice! The taste are supurb. The noodle are made by themselves and they taste divine. The Wan Tan Mee is the "white" version.

They even have their own website and they have operate for many many years. To check one of their newspaper article pls refer to this link.

My Favourite food in Malacca (Malaysia)

Pin Kee, Bukit Beruang
Another one of my all time favourite food in Malacca while i was studying there is the Sambal Pork Rice and the Salad Chicken. Its located at Bukit Beruang, Ayer Keroh and near MMU university.

Sambal Pork Rice

My Favourite food in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia)

Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood, Kepong
If you are in Kepong, one dish u must not miss is their lovely crabs! At Desa Aman Puri there are many crab restaurant but one that stood out is Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood. The restaurant is a hit with a combination of delicious crabs at an amazingly cheap prices (rm18/kg) and an equally mouth watering array of other dishes. Its a double storey shoplot and the shop are always pack during peak hours. Considering the crowd they have a system were u need to line up to get your table. This really save the trouble of vying the seat from other patrons.
Their crabs come in variety of taste but one that caught my attention is the cheese and butter crab. I particular love this as I can dip my bun into the cheese sauce! Other than the crab i also order tafu, sotong and buns.
